Welcome to Ski Hive! This lovely one-level home is centrally located in Canaan Valley and provides easy access in every season. Winter visitors will LOVE the short walk to the high-speed lifts at Timberline Mountain. No need to look for a parking space or a locker to store your shoes...it really is that close! In every season Ski Hive provides a central location for anything Tucker County. It is a short drive to Davis, Thomas, Blackwater Falls and Canaan Resort. Dolly Sods, White Grass and Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge are all just a hike, bike, or short drive away. At the end of the day return to "the Hive" to relax and unwind. A well-stocked kitchen makes meal prep easy and the lovely screened in porch makes mealtimes a pleasure. In winter gather around the fireplace to recap the day's events.   We had a great stay in Ski Hive and really enjoyed the house. It was comfortable, spacious, and we especially appreciated having plenty of fans throughout the home, they definitely came in handy!
  
  There was an issue when we arrived because the house had unfortunately not been cleaned after the previous guests. We were able to get things cleaned up ourselves and wash the linens without too much trouble. More importantly, the property manager was extremely apologetic, responsive, and immediately made things right by refunding the cleaning fees. We really appreciated how professionally the situation was handled.
  
  Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would absolutely consider staying here again. The home was a great fit for our trip, and the excellent response from management made a big difference.

  Our family has been coming to the Ski Hive for the past five years over the New Year’s Eve holiday, and it truly could not be more perfect for us. It has become a place we genuinely look forward to returning to every year and truly feels like our home away from home. The house has the perfect amount of space for multiple families, allowing everyone to be together while still having room to relax and unwind.
  
  The location is absolutely ideal. Being within walking distance to the ski lift makes everything so easy and enjoyable, especially when traveling with kids and all the ski gear. That convenience alone takes so much stress out of the trip and allows us to fully enjoy our time together at Timberline.
  
  The home is always incredibly clean, well maintained, and in excellent condition. It is clear how much care and pride go into keeping the property welcoming and comfortable for guests. Every detail makes the stay feel thoughtful and intentional.
  
  The vacation rental management staff has also been wonderful to work with. They are responsive, professional, and kind, and communication has always been clear from booking through check out. Everything runs smoothly, which makes the entire experience effortless.
  
  We cannot recommend the Ski Hive enough for families or groups looking for a special place to make lasting memories. We are so grateful to have found it and look forward to returning year after year as part of our family tradition.

  We have stayed at numerous places for skiing and hiling in Canaan Valley, but this was our favorite place so far! It is roomy, comfortable, and has all the amenities that you would need for your stay. We were impressed with all the dishes, pans, spices and other essentials. It may be a small thing, but we loved it. There was a hairdryer in each of the bathrooms, and a fan and each of the bedrooms so we could utilize so we didn’t need to bring our own from home. I just really think of the little things as well as the big things that you may need on your vacation!!

  My family and I travel down to Canaan Valley every year in October and this house was probably one of the cleanest houses we’ve stayed in. The layout was open and fit our large group very well. The hot tub was very large and was able to fit 5 of us comfortably. My daughter enjoyed being able to watch the deer eat in the front yard from the living rooms large windows. Very nice property for a relaxing weekend away.

  We love this house so much. The layout is perfect for us. Well furnished kitchen. Very relaxing and quiet neighborhood. The hot tub was only Luke warm, upon checkout the office informed us that we should of called them, so they could reset it. The hot tub cover had mildew on it and smelled moldy. The television is outdated and really needs to be upgraded to a smart tv. We had plenty of apps we could use, but no way to access the television. Living room furniture is not very comfortable. All in all a great vacation. Really want to rent this house again next year too. Anyway we can find out if any of are concerns were addressed?

  This was the perfect house for our group of 5. With 4 bedrooms, one couple had a room and the rest of us had our own bedroom. The kitchen is really well stocked with every dish and utensil you might need and plenty of spices, oil, coffee, etc. We found plenty of paper goods for our 4 night stay, too. We saw several deer from the big front window. It was warm enough that we did not make a fire in the fireplace, but there was plenty of wood to start one if desired. We enjoyed the hot tub one evening but it didn't quite get hot enough.
  
  The house is very close to the Timberline base area and not far from Canaan Valley, the town of Davis, and other attractions. We enjoyed Blackwater Fall State Park and Seneca Rocks for some apres ski hiking and sight seeing.

  With all the comforts of home and the escape from the daily routines, the Ski Hive is the whole package. Not a single need or desire was unmet. The short walk to the ski lifts allow you to focus more on skiing instead of packing the car and dealing with long walks from the parking lot. A kitchen full of amenities allows family dinner to be cooked every evening versus fighting lines at the local restaurant options. There is ample space for a large family to spread out and each member to find a cozy space to call their own. We highly recommend a stay at the Ski Hive! We will definitely return.

  Perfect cabin layout for a midsized group. We had 7 people spread out over 4 rooms. The family room kitchen area was the center of the cabin and made gathering for meals, games, and TV fun. Fireplace very nice!!! Stocked well with pots and pans and casserole dishes. We only ate out once. Easy access to the slopes. Not exactly a ski in and ski out but just a short walk out the back door and across a parking lot gets you to the lifts. Would definitely recommend and would rent the Ski Hive again.

Overall the place was really clean. Our only recommendation to the owners, would be to replace the two black chairs in the living room with oversized recliners. Would be happy to purchase this house if you ever want to sell.

  We loved Ski Hive! Plenty of beds to spread out, good kitchen and dining table, comfy living area, incredible hot tub (feels very clean and new), and being walking distance from Timberline is truly amazing! The couches/chairs/linens could have been slightly higher quality, or decor a bit lighter and brighter in general, but otherwise we had no complaints. Very quiet neighborhood and peaceful area, and only a 15 minute drive from the big city (Davis) for food and essentials.
