  This house was beautifully located and provided us easy access to the Wildlife Refuge for hiking. It was incredibly well stocked and well labeled and 11 of us had plenty of space for rest and play.   The location is lovely, peaceful and private. Great hiking right outside our door. Loved kayaking and sitting by the pond. Enjoyed the hot tub. Discovered a fantastic 4th of July celebration/fireworks in nearby Harman! So nice to have separate areas for kids to play and not disturb others. Very accomodating rental agency- they even mailed back a few items left in the dryer! Coffee pots had not been cleaned out (still had used filters in them) and kitchen trash had not been taken out. Otherwise,in great shape when we got there!

  This home was one of our favorite vacation homes ever. It was roomy, very clean, well stocked with everything we might need (including a wonderfully well stocked kitchen), and was beautiful inside and out. The 5 bedrooms were supplemented with 2 extra living areas which can be used as bedrooms. One has a door, and the other has a curtain. There are labels everywhere to show where things belong and how everything best works. The outside is so much fun with kayaks for the pond, corn hole, a beautiful playset for the kids, a great hot tub, and lots of outdoor seating and tables. There are even extra folding chairs in the garage for extra seating. Check-in was a breeze as the realty company is located not far from the property, so we just picked up the keys on our way in. They were very friendly and gave us a map to the property in case our navigation didn't work (which it did-Apple maps). There were great activities close by. We visited in the summer (everything was so green!), and enjoyed hiking at Blackwater Falls SP as well as other waterfalls in nearby Thomas, riding the ski lift at Canaan Valley Resort for beautiful summer views, visiting caverns less than an hour away, and eating at wonderful, trendy restaurants in Davis and Thomas. One thing to consider when renting: our family loves keeping physically fit and exercising, so this was perfectly fine with us, but do be aware that there are a good number of stairs to navigate inside the home and off the back deck. Our family had a fantastic time and would love to visit this property again!

  We’ve stayed in Timberline more than a dozen years. This has to be one of the best settings we’ve stayed at. The level lot with the backdrop of the pond is just magical. The home was clean and well stocked with all the necessary kitchen items for preparing big meals like our group does. Having essentially 3 master suites was a nice bonus.

  My siblings and family met in the Canaan Valley in July. Because we live in different states, we don't get together as a family as much as we would like. Sunnyside was perfect for our family of 12 adults and 3 children! There were plenty of spaces where groups could meet to talk or play games. The kitchen was spectacular with everything you could want. The table and multiple chairs was perfect for seating the entire family. The dock and lake were particlar favorite spits for swimming, kayaking and stirring around the fire pit. We all enjoyed our time at Sunnyside and hope to meet there again.

  This rental is by far and away one of the best I have found around Canaan Valley for a large group. At first I was concerned with the fact it’s listed as 5 bedroom but because of the super cool lay out, in reality it’s more like a 7 bedroom with the 2 downstairs den areas that have either a door or a curtain for privacy. The kitchen in this house is TO DIE FOR and literally stocked beyond belief with any sort of cooking accessory you would ever need. Not to mention the air hockey, hot tub, foosball table, 2 poker tables, basketball game and corn hole. This house has it all!!
  
  Also, Best of Canaan is super easy to work with and allowed us to book an extra night after 2 feet of snow with no issue
  
  I cannot recommend this home enough (especially as a WVU Alum)
