This lovely 5-bedroom home is the perfect mountain sanctuary for family happenings or friendly gatherings. The well-equipped kitchen makes preparing meals easy. There is room to dine both inside and outside. Evenings might find you relaxing in the outdoor hot tub or shooting a game of pool with friends. Summerhaven is child friendly and one well behaved dog is welcome to join in the fun! Close to skiing at Timberline Mountain, White Grass and Canaan Resort and even closer to Blackwater Falls, Davis, and Thomas, this one should be called Location, Location, Location! 4-wheel drive vehicles are recommended for winter visitors.

  The folks at Best of Canaan were so kind and helpful from the start. The house was spotlessly clean and so well stocked with kitchen dishware, tools and appliances, extra linens, games, toys, and books. Bathe home is roomy with several extra spaces we didn’t expect. It was our best stay yet.

  A few friends, two dogs, and a baby had a great time staying in this house over a long weekend in February. The house was clean, cozy, and a lot of fun. We had a great time driving the short distance to the ski hills and skiing during the day and coming home in the evening to use the hot tub and play foosball in the basement. We cooked big meals in the well equipped kitchen. On Sunday we drove back through Thomas to grab coffee and walk through the shops. 10/10 would recommend the house, the location, and all of the fun stuff to do outside in WV.

  This house has everything you need to have an amazing fall weekend including the best location, close to trails. Also, the deck (comfortable furniture), hot tub, game room, and fireplace were definitely used and appreciated. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfy.   Mostly good experience; the house was nice and matched the description. The frustration was the hot tub; A few of us took the day off to arrive right at check-in time and make full use of the hot tub. Except, the hot tub was cold. When we called, Best of Canaan told us this was a common problem due to refilling it earlier in the day. If this was a common problem, why is it not solved? Refill it earlier in the week, or at least let us know so we're not expecting it. I'm not saying we need a full refund or anything ridiculous, but something more than "Oh yeah this happens" is needed.

    So sorry your trip was disrupted by a chilly hot tub. The good news is that the hot tub was drained, cleaned and refilled for your stay. Communication is so important.
