We look forward every year to this family reunion. This is a perfect spot for us to get together and enjoy each other and nature at its finest. We had a few issues with the stove, and it would be great to have a TV in each bedroom so people can relax privately. Other than that, I think the owners provide a clean, well-stocked, comfortable vacation rental. I think the description was very accurate. Unfortunately, due to a family health emergency, we had to leave 3 days early.

What a wonderful home for vacation. You can cook all your meals in the kitchen and you’ll have everything you need. The pool table, shuffle board and hot tub provided lots of family fun. As a large group you have plenty of room to all hang out. The setting is very private. Just a great home to stay in.

We had a small reunion at Peaceful Easy Feeling--4 households represented. The couple with small children loved the basement setup! The primary bedroom on the first floor was perfectly soundproofed!! The kitchen was equipped, even had small storage containers for leftovers. And we all appreciated the air conditioning. Even though the outside temp was cool, there was zero mold or mildew smell which is a problem with many of the Canaan Valley houses we have rented over the years.

I would love upgraded sheets (very thin and flimsy) and towels (not up to completely drying hair or body) and some hand towels in the bathrooms. We had to use full towels next to the sink to dry our hands.

ONE LATE NIGHT EARLY MORNING WE WAKE UP TO A FLYING SQUIRREL FLYING ALL OVER THE UP STAIRS LOFT AND THE LIVING ROOM AND KITCHEN. THIS WENT ON FOR WELL OVER AN HOUR. FINALLY THE LITTLE GUY LANDED IN THE SINK EATING CARROT CAKE OFF OF A SPOON. A BLANKET WAS THROWN OVER THIS LITTLE GUY AND HE WAS RELEASE BACK INTO THE WILD. LOL HE ATTEMPT TO RETURN THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR BUT WAS WARNED IN A LOUD VOICE HE THEN RAN INTO THE WOODS.... HOPEFULLY NOT TO FREEZE
THE ONLY REAL ISSUE WAS THE TV IN MASTER BEDROOM THE OFFICE HELPED US GET THAT UNDER CONTROL FOR THE REST OF THE STAY... IF WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE INSTRUCTION IN THE MASTER BEDROOM LIKE IN THE OTHER ROOMS...

The home is beautiful and well appointed. There was plenty of room for our whole family. The only thing we didn't like is the extremely small shower in the master suite. It would be great to have a spacious walk-in shower like those in the lower level. Other than that, we were well-pleased with the home and enjoyed our stay there. Thank you!

We come every year for a family reunion; second time renting Peaceful Easy Feeling. The rental is in a good location and large enough for our family. The home was clean and well equipped. We would have liked to have a dish drain and more dish towels. Last year we bought some dish towels & left them but this year we were back to two towels! The staff at the Best of Canaan rental office were very helpful

Another family and friends Winter Vacation in Canaan Valley is in the books. This is the 1st time staying at Peaceful Easy Feeling. It will not be the last. Believe it or not, the name is very fitting. The house is very well appointed. We've been careful before by bringing things from home, such as large pots, pans, and spices. They were not needed this trip. The remodeled lower level is great. The whole house is very nice with updated appliances etc. It is also well kept. Wood burning fireplace was a big hit. Newer TV's were easy to navigate. Looking to book next year already. No regrets!! Thanks

Best cabin in Canaan we’ve ever rented. Plenty of room to sleep at least 12 people comfortably (without anyone sleeping on the day bed.) Evrryghing was immaculately clean. The kitchen was recently remodeled and is very well stocked with everything you need to cook meals for a large group. The basement ideas also recently updated and the bathrooms down there are gorgeous. The basement was like a separate apartment for our teenage guests to hang out in and watch TV or play pool. The master bedroom is also gorgeous. Even though the bedrooms upstairs are in the smaller side they are clean and comfortable. The Jack-And-Jill bathroom upstairs is large and laid out nicely to share. It hasn’t been remodeled like the basement, but it is in pristine condition and looks like it’s never been used! If the weather were better we would have spent our evenings outside in the deck. But we had rain and snow, so we spent them by the fire place laughing, talking and listening to music. We would absolutely rent this cabin again.

We loved this house, and fully enjoyed our stay there. It was a perfect size for 3 families with adult children. It had everything you will ever need for cooking in the kitchen, and plenty of plates, glasses, cups and utensils too. Since it was cold and snow outside, we used the fireplace a lot and there was plenty of firewood provided. We did have a few minor issues like the light fixture in one of the upstairs bedrooms, but wasn’t a big deal overall. And the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, I definitely recommend staying at this house.

Our family has been vacationing in Canaan Valley for 15 years, and this is the nicest home we've stayed at. It is spacious and clean with everything you need and with extra thoughtful touches throughout. The remodeled kitchen is a chef's dream, and the new wood floors on the main level are very nice. The brand new basement is perfect, with large bedrooms and luxurious bathrooms. The master shower was a little cramped, so we used one of the downstairs showers. From the large back deck and brand new hot tub, the only noises you could hear were birds and the wind through the trees. Overall, a great place to stay in a beautiful area.

This was our second rental of “Peaceful Easy Feelings”. We were very impressed with the completed renovations of the home. The house is perfect all our family members.
The house is well maintained and clean without signs of major wear and tear. The kitchen is well equipped, other than the absence of a can opener. The metal end pieces on the main floor are loose and easily become unattached and fall to the floor.
There was plenty of dry fire which was used and enjoyed and appreciated.
The only critique I would offer is the size of the shower stall located in the main floor master bedroom. It barely accommodates an average size person with little room to maneuver as you like to do in a shower. It is difficult to adjust the water temperature before entering without water splashing out on the bathroom floor. It is such a spacious master bath with a small shower.
Secondly both outside grills had not been cleaned in a good while, also rendering the grilling utensils under grill in a condition that were not usable.
Overall, the accommodation is excellent and will be our first choice in future trips to Canaan. We would rate it the best yet and we have been coming to Canaan/Timberline for many years.
I also must add that the staff at “Best of Canaan” is top-notch. A very friendly and customer focused staff of people. A pleasure to do business with. Sincerely!

Peaceful, Easy Feeling certainly lived up to its name! House was wonderful. Kitchen was well-stocked. Layout was great. Bedrooms were spacious and mattress was extremely comfortable. Weather was unusually warm the first couple days we were there but cooled off later in the week so we could build a fire at night. Hot tub was huge and very welcome after a day of fishing and exploring. It would be nice if there was a direct staircase to the hot tub from the upper deck but it looks like the owners are doing a lot of construction on the lower level so maybe in the future? We did see a couple deer, several squirrels and a red fox while we were there. Would definitely consider staying again! Thanks again to Best of Canaan staff for helping us have another wonderful vacation!
