You are sure to be Tuckered Out! Winter renters should plan on four- or all-wheel drive vehicles with good winter tires. Tire chains may be an important thing to bring along, just in case.

  We stayed for three months over the summer. The house is tucked in the woods in an older development in Canaan Valley, comprised of a mix of vacation-rental and owner-occupied properties, close to trails, wildlife refuge, Davis. The location was mostly quiet. You could hear the main highway and workers/neighbors sometimes during the day, but all in all, peaceful. There is a house across the road, not far away, and they were only around a handful of weekends (and quiet). Other houses are not in view. The house is a few years old, and everything works well. The kitchen is well equipped, there is a grill and the house is nicely furnished. We did not use the hot tub (faces the road). It has floor to ceiling windows but the thick woods block a lot of the daylight (we had lights on in all rooms during the day). The deck is in the shade, only the driveway gets direct sun. We used the upstairs bedroom for sleeping, as it was the only room with curtains that blocked the entire window (other rooms let in morning light). The floor plan is open, and despite having three bedrooms, there is not a lot of private space. There were just the two of us, so that was fine. For groceries and supplies, we drove to Elkins. There is a small grocery in Davis, but not well provisioned for a long stay.
  
  Going in, the price seemed high for the area, and the stay did not change that impression. The house, location, and surrounding activities were all pleasant, but nothing about the stay felt exceptional.
