  Three adults and a toddler stayed for five nights to ski Timberline and see the area. House had everything we needed for our stay. Loved the giant couch to lounge on and the hot tub after a long tiring day. The smart TV was nice to stream Netflix and Disney+. We enjoyed watching the deer pass through the backyard every day. Drive to Timberline is quick and accessible through the gate on the west side of the overflow parking area.
  House is a bit outdated and could use a good deep cleaning (lots of dust on the fans and fake flowers, dirt and debris under beds and dressers where the vacuum can't quite reach). Another towel bar and hand towel ring on the second floor would be super helpful for keeping towels dry and off the floor/counter. Also, why are there no curtains/blinds in the one bedroom? Very annoying to not have privacy for changing as well as no way to keep the room dark when the sun comes up.

  An exceptional homelike experience! The door locks ALL need replacing! We spent 30 minutes trying to get into the house upon arrival! Nothing worked! Finally the maintenance man Mike came and his keys did not work either!

  The location is tremendous. The rental would be much more pleasant if the huge amount of personal knickknacks and plastic plants were removed, as it is hard to find space to put ones own stuff on a bare surface. The personal pictures of someone's children give a message that one is invading someone else's home, rather than staying in a vacation rental place. Finding someone else's used bandaid in the jacuzzi was a little yucky, but the tub was great. Also, it would be nice to have a medium or large sized frying pan.

  This was our first time visiting Canaan Valley. The house is a stones throw from Timberline which was so convenient skiing with young kids on different schedules. The house was clean and very well appointed. We did have some issue with internet service going in and out but that was a problem in the whole area and not specific to Moose Lodge.   We came up for the Leaf Peeper Festival in September. This is the second year that we stayed in this unit. We had a great time both years. Moose Lodge is homey and well equipped It is also a great choice for a family who needs a place that is handicapped accessible. It has a ramp and a first floor bedroom with a zero entry shower. While we weren’t in need of these amenities we have friends who are and we were excited to tell them that Moose Lodge could accommodate them. There is a hot tub, fireplace, and outdoor fire pit. While the furniture is a little dated, the unit is exceptionally clean and functional. One of the most valuable assets is the personnel st Best of Canaan. They are there to help iron out any difficulties and our family certainly appreciated all of their extra efforts

  We stayed with a group of friends here during Thanksgiving 2017. This is a nice and serene corner of the world. It is ideal if one is looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The price is more reasonable than most cabins of this size and quality. The cabin was well equipped with everything. There's a decent sized patio and a good grill. The service was also okay. There was some glitch as the management gave us the wrong key and we had to wait late at night in the cold, but they were kind enough to respond immediately and fix the issue. Overall, this is a great place to stay at at a very competitive price.

  The home was perfect for the occasion. It is conveniently located by both Timberline and Canaan Valley Resort to accommodate skiing, and close to Davis to visit the local restaurants and shops.   This was our first visit to Canaan Valley and it was beyond our expectations. The area is so beautiful and peaceful. The house was beautiful and very clean and well kept.   We enjoyed our stay at Moose Lodge. Everyone from my 10 month old daughter to my 70 year old father. Everything is located nearby such as:ski lifts, Blackwater falls,Seneca,smoke hole, and dolly sods. Moose Lodge had a very homey feel,with extra towels, cookware, comfy beds and washer and dryer. We enjoyed watching deer come into our yard and saw a bear on the ski lift. We would definitely stay again. Only complaint the air conditioning did not keep it as cool as we like it to be.

  Overall, we had a great time here. Lots of things in the area to do. Used the hot tub a couple of times - very relaxing. People in the office were friendly and very helpful about what was in the area, places to go, etc. Only small complaint was the lock was hard to open - we usually had to take turns until someone could get it and just started only using the deadbolt. Other thing was all the doors upstairs kind of stick so make noise when opening. Not good for the middle of the night bathroom runs when opening and closing a couple of doors. Again, these were minor problems. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

  The home is lovely. The management was amazingly responsive to the few issues that arose. It is well-appointed with all the comforts you would have in your own home. Quite spacious, it allows each person to feel as part of the group, while having one's own space. I want to let you know you will pay extra for the use of the hot tub, so make certain you check it daily, even if not using it, to ensure it works for the duration of your stay. It only heated up for one day of our stay, despite maintenance coming to fix it. Otherwise, our stay was absolutely perfect. If we are in West Virginia again, we will definitely stay here. Another note: be certain to have breakfast at the restaurant right next to the airfield. I forgot the name, but it is by far the best breakfast I have ever had...and I am a very picky eater.

  Nothing is better than coming home, and staying at Moose Lodge is just that - home! Also, dealing with the staff is the best part of the deal! You are the best group of people!
  
  Just a couple of suggestions:
  I hope the next time the downstairs shower has a fix for the hose that hangs up - the way it is now can easily cut someone since it is a wire that is not fixed properly.
  
  The only other recommendation would be to have a telephone directory for the local area and a list of cable stations so you don't have to go throughout them one by one.

  Overall great experience. The staff was extremely helpful and responsive during the planning phase of the trip. The cabin itself is in a quiet area, and within short driving distance to Blackwater Falls, Dolly Sods, Canaan Valley Resort, and the town of Davis. The hot tub was perfect after long days of hiking, and the gas grill worked great. Also loved the fact that the kitchen was stocked with pretty much everything you need. Checkout instructions on the refrigerator made checkout super easy. Would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone.

  This is my second time staying here and I know I will stay again. There is no better group to work with than Best of Canaan. the washing machine needed a new belt so it was replaced right away. Again, the best property management group.

  It was a great stay with everyone being so helpful about any and all my needs. I would recommend making sure outside pole lamp being in working order for anyone using the ramp at night. Also if is possible to have a key for sliding door to ramp that would be great. I hope to rent this house again next year for possibly longer.

  Canaan Valley is a beautiful spot in Almost Heaven, WV. We have stayed in the Woods End development 4 or 5 times over the last several years because I like the floor plan of the units. Moose Lodge was a very nice unit--well equipped, clean and nicely decorated. I'm certain everyone who stays there really enjoys it.

  This was a very nice house for our group (2 couples & 2 children.) For skiing, the mud room/laundry was very convenient. It was a rather long walk to the ski slopes, however--hard to drag the kids that far in their ski boots! Hot tub was great after a day on the slopes. Beds were comfy. I would have appreciated a better sound system for the living area--I like music more than watching TV.
