With so many restaurants and local entertainment close at hand it might be hard to stay inside...but this well equipped home with cable TV, WIFI and a fireplace will certainly make you consider it.

  We rented thru Best of Canaan last year and had a great experience so we decided to try it again this year but a month earlier hoping for more snow. Well we didn't get more snow (there was enough for both downhill and X-country skiing) but we had an equally enjoyable experience. The rental was in Davis, convenient to everything. It was very cute and comfortable; we especially liked the wood burning fireplace which we took advantage of almost every nite. The only downside was that the dishwasher was leaking so we couldn't use it. But that wasn't such a big deal

  This townhouse was adequate for our needs. Within an easy drive to Parsons for the Bluegrass Festival. There are several window cranks that were broken, several ants traps around to address the ant problem, many burn marks in the carpet, and I totally scrubbed the coffee maker prior to use. Beds were adequate and showers/ bathrooms were fine. With a little TLC and a few additional cooking implements, this could be a more desirable rental.

  Cute cabin very close to state park, restaurants and shops in Davis. This was a great place to stay with 2 kids. Kitchen is fully stocked for cooking, beds comfortable, quiet neighbors. We can’t wait to come back.

  The location of this rental is perfect for a weekend in the Canaan Valley. Unfortunately the property was not as clean as it could have been (lots of dust, hair in the upstairs shower) and the bedding could use an update.

  This was a perfect place for our trip as it provided an opportunity to enjoy Canaan Valley without any human contact, ideal for COVID conditions - separate entrance, contactless check-in and check-out. The property is modest but clean, with a real and well-functioning fireplace and big terrace (which we didn't use because of the snowstorm). It's close to the main road, but this was actually a plus as it made it easier to get through snow. There are minor minuses (there is no bathroom downtairs and kitchen has a limited number of glasses or plates and is not too well stocked with utencils, except pots and frying pans - bring your own corkscrew and wine glasses if you're into wine), but generally it is a cozy and nice place at a very reasonable price, and the management company is very friendly.

  My family and I absolutely loved this rental. It was in a great location very close to Blackwater Falls and the center of Davis. The view of the stars at night was amazing! Inside of the rental was very clean. The only issue we had was the water in the shower got cold very quickly and there is not a railing on the one side of the stairs to prevent falls( mostly concerned for young children). The property was in a small rental community, but this particular rental was very private. The people at the rental company were very helpful and responded very quickly to questions we had. We loved our stay and will definitely try to rent this property again when we come back to Davis!

  Overall the place was great. Two of the window cranks were broken, not a huge deal. Well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer. Peaceful location. Nice sized deck to enjoy the cool evening. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

  The duplex at Pendletonheim 1B isn't fancy, but it was clean and suited our purposes nicely. It was very close to Davis and Blackwater Falls State Park. The mattresses were actually quite comfortable; however, a larger mattress in one bedroom would have been nice. We were pleased with the value and very happy with the management company.
