When I think back to my childhood home, I can say with certainty that my favorite room was the den. It wasn’t a big space, but every inch of it contained the most interesting relics. The location was perfect as we were there to ride bikes on the Alleghany Highland trail. Loved the little towns of Davis and Thomas. The only downside is the washer was broke.

  This is probably the 11th or 12th time I've stayed in this particular unit in Deerfield over the last 15 years. It is beautifully maintained and has been thoughtfully updated year by year. It is conveniently located in the Canaan Valley, in a country setting but in a cluster of town homes. There are good amenities in Deerfield itself and going grocery shopping, reaching either of the State Parks as well as driving into Thomas is easy. it is also a great jumping off place for day trips, whether it is Canoeing with an outfitter or hearing the WVA Augusta Festival in the summer. The office staff is super and the owners responsive should you ever need to be in touch with them as we were one year. It is a great plus to have excellent wifi service and be within walking distance of a couple of restaurants.

  Most of the timewe felt like we were in a cabin as it was very quiet and quaint with a beautiful wooded backyard view beyond the nice walkout out porch. Our favorite was the nice pool and lovely WV summer weather. It's clean & well-stocked, quaint & cozy. We felt curiously connected to the owners through the welcoming ways of the home. We enjoyed playing Battleship, as there were many board games & books to choose from. The guys watched lots of tv. We enjoyed a few of their movies, like Homeward Bound. We were able to walk out the back door to order food one night from the restaurant nearby. It was impressive that the garbage men came by each day & that the HOA takes care of daily landscaping maintenance. If we lived closer, we'd book the same place a few times a year. The proximity to natures beauty is ideal. Also, the HOA Mgr was real nice & helpful as a tour guide giving us ideas of where to visit!

  My husband and I along with our 2 small children spent a long weekend at the Den. What a cozy little place! We had a wonderful time!
  We cooked all of our meals at The Den, and I was shocked at how well the kitchen was stocked, and even the other supplies(tp, paper towels etc..). It was so nice not to have to bring all of that, since we brought lots of other children's toys, books etc..
  Our girls loved getting their evening baths in the "big" tub. My husband was thrilled to be able to walk to the pond and fish whenever he wanted. We loved that there was so much to do close by. We did a few small trips here and there, but mainly did a lot at the resort.
  Most definitely enjoyed our stay, and will keep it in mind for future vacations. Would highly recommend!!

  May wife and I came in early June for a "get-away" vacation. Our four night stay was delightful. The unit was in excellent condition and very comfortable for relaxing after taking day trips to Blackwater Falls, Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks, Snowshoe Village, Thomas and other surrounding areas. As a photographer, I many Photo Opps of some beautiful country.

  This place was heaven. Couldn't be in a more beautiful area. It was so green and beautiful and quiet. We were there in June and we felt like we had the whole valley to ourselves. It was awesome. The Den is located within driving distance of so many fun things to see and do. It was packed with all the conveniences of home plus some! There were plenty of linens and lots of lamps and lighting plus ceiling fans everywhere to keep it cool. The washer and dryer were huge and wonderful as well. I could go on forever. We cooked all our meals at The Den and I was shocked at all the kitchen was well stocked! My kids LOVED the pool and we somehow managed to get there everyday. We had the whole pool to ourselves every time! It was awesome. One of the highlights of our vacation for sure. The resort offered so many more activities and everything was so well cared for and in great condition. Would highly recommend The Den to anyone. It was an absolute delight to be there for the week!

  We had a great time in Canaan. The Den was a wonderful experience. From the beginning when the owner contacted us until checkout, everyone was helpful and very friendly. Best of Canaan staff was professional with a welcoming demeanor. Thank you to the Dennisons for their beautiful home. They have decorated it beautifully and the "Den" is very warm.

  We booked the Den for a quick skiing holiday right after Christmas. We were extremely pleased with the location of the rental and all of the amenities provided to the guests by the owners. The home is very beautifully furnished and less than 10 mins from all the skiing activities. The weather was not as wonderful, unfortunately, with torrential rain during a good part of the trip. The Den was very comfortable for staying indoors to read and watch football. For any first time travelers to the area, we were told that we were a little early for the skiing season there.

  Nice relaxing time we did go to the caverns it was really nice! Loved where we stayed it was clean and beds were comfy. Will definitely come back ! We were here for 4 nights I would stay longer next time.

  This is one of the nicest places! We have been visiting Canaan Valley for many years and few places compare to the Den. Beautiful, spotless, and every little detail perfect!   We were pleasantly surprised by the overall condition and decor of "The Den". It was absolutely beautiful and I wouldn't change a thing about it.   Need to update to accommodate iPads. Was listed as wifi connected . Possibly a new cable hook up to router would work.

    Thanks so much for your recommendation, and the heads-up regarding the WiFi. We researched this extensively with the internet service provider as well as with Apple, and can report that the system, including modem, router, and cables, accommodates iPads. Users need to make sure the iPad itself is internally set for WiFi. The iPad does not include a port for direct cable connection to a router".
