All linens provided from professional linen service. Dual-zone gas heat and central A/C. Electronic amenities include broadband WiFi and flat screen TV’s in living spaces and all 7 bedrooms. Both living room TV's are smart-streaming Samsung Crystal 4K UHDs, with free Samsung TV Plus channel and ability to access your Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, or other subscription streaming services. Convenient theater room TV connected to cable and equipped with DVD player, movie collection, and convenient HDMI port for use with your gaming systems. Every bedroom TV is connected to basic cable TV. There is plenty of room to spread out with 2 living room areas, each equipped with a gas fireplace, plus a theater/TV room. The spacious kitchen, bar, and dining area will make mealtime a pleasure and with 2 refrigerators and 2 dishwashers, storage and clean-up are a snap. Gather on the outside deck for charcoal grilling, outdoor eating, relaxing in the 7-person hot tub, viewing gorgeous sunsets, or stargazing under the brilliant night sky. Enjoy the flat grassy outdoor area with picnic table, chairs, swinging glider, and a perfect cornhole pitch. No matter when you plan to be our guest, you’ll never be bored as you enjoy all that the Canaan Valley has to offer, featuring the under-new-ownership Timberline Mountain Resort, Canaan Valley and Blackwater Falls State Parks, Dolly Sods, and the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge.   We all had a marvelous time. The house is spacious, very well equipped, and located in a beautiful spot. When we arrived, the house we originally booked was having a maintenance issue. The team quickly got us situated in this house. We loved the deck, the two enormous couches, the fact that all the bedrooms had a bathroom. I was very impressed that they were able to get us into a comparable property right away -- we had four families needing space. The location suited us perfectly for outdoor excursions -- which were nearby! We enjoyed Dolly Sods, the resort, Blackwater Falls, and a horseback riding excursion. We grilled out most nights and appreciated the equipped kitchen! West Virginia is Almost Heaven and we will definitely be back.

  My family gathers in the Canaan Valley area each summer renting 2-3 homes. This home has been one of our mainstays because the number of bedrooms and a large kitchen dining area. The home is clean and updated. The deck has a picnic table as well as many chairs to allow for other seating options while eating meals. The deck is a great place to gather in the evening and enjoy the cool night air. Overall a nice place to stay if you have a large group.

We decided to not to rent again this coming Aug/Sept. Also, one criticism I would offer: you really need a couple of umbrellas or other shade protect on the back deck.   This is not our first trip to Timberline, but it was our first time at Cedar Creek. The house is perfect for a big group.
  
  1. This house can fit all the occupants in the eating area for meal times. Many of the other houses with this many bedrooms have small or disjointed seating. We can squeeze 12 people at the dining room table, and more at the close bar.
  
  2. Each bedroom has it's own en suite bathroom. They are all almost identical in size and layout, so there was no arguing over who got the best room! As the primary guest, I did pick the room with the best view!
  
  3. Most of the beds were kings. This was a huge plus for our family.
  
  4. The sofas in each living area were big enough for all of us to relax and watch a movie together. The last house we rented only had seating for 6-8 people in the living room
  
  5. The house was one of the best appointed we have rented. There were supplies galore for everything we wanted to cook. There was nothing we needed that was not in a kitchen drawer or cabinet. 2 coffee makers plus a keurig, and 2 dishwashers are life changing. 2 washers and 2 dryers, and a big mud room in the basement. The pool table was great.
  
  6. The hot tub was HOT! Even when it was in the single digits at night, the water was perfect!
  
  7. The open upper floors were noisy, but the downstairs was super quiet for our little ones, even when there was some late night festivities in the kitchen.
  
  The only cons I have are insignificant. There is not a big trash can for a large group. We brought extra garbage bags and made trips to the dumpster. Another house left their trash outside and the critters got into the trash.
  
  I wish we brought more dishwasher soap, large trash bags, and paper towels.

  I brought a group of 11 cousins to Cedar Creek for a much needed cousin reunion. The house was perfect! Clean and inviting. Each bedroom having it's own bath was a real plus!

Kitchen had everything we needed. No gas grill but two charcoal grills worked fine. The hot tub wasn’t working but one call and it was repaired quickly. The only thing we wished for was a small table for card and board games. Would love to come back in winter.

  The cabin was wonderful. The layout and furnishings were very nice. The photo online of the media room was quiet different than the actual property - room was much smaller than expected. Overall, it was a very nice experience. The only negatives I would mention are due to this being the 5th year we have rented a location for our gathering from Tennessee to Pennsylvania and this is the first time we have encountered these missing items: There was only one extra roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and no spares in the powder room. We did not anticipate purchasing this. There was also only one half-roll of paper towels. There were no large garbage bags or a lid on the garbage can. These are all items that were provided in the previous locations. And the lack of spare towels for the bathrooms was surprising. I did not anticipate having to do laundry repeatedly throughout the weekend.

Cedar Creek is a lovely home and a perfect spot for gathering family and friends in a comfortable setting with private bedrooms and bathrooms. Each bathroom is stocked with 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 4 washcloths and 2 hot tub towels. It is our hope that will be a sufficient supply for the stay...but if not isn't it extremely convenient to have 2 laundry centers in the house? As stated in our rental agreement, we provide a starter supply of soaps, toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags. We apologize if you felt that ample supplies were not provided. We invite all of our guests to phone our office if you feel that things are not as they should be. Our office is open 7 days a week...and renter input, comments and questions are always welcome.   This was our sixth year at Winterset 35 and each stay has been a great experience. Just a few comments regarding our ratings above: Property general condition: they have replaced the great room furniture once since we've been staying there but it's getting close to needing replacement again as is some of the other furniture including the pool table which needs to be refurbished or replaced. Cleanliness is pretty good but the bathrooms in the basement bedrooms were not properly cleaned (toothpaste in sink and on mirror and numerous hair in one of the showers). It was nice having another refrigerator in the basement. We've booked it for next year and already looking forward to it. Great working with the staff at Best of Canaan!

  The house was incredible! We had several families with kids on our trip and had plenty of room for everyone. The private bathroom in each bedroom was a great feature. The two dishwashers in the kitchen were the icing on the cake. We will definitely be back.

  We've rented this house for years now and have always enjoyed it. They Owners and Property Managment company always seem to do their best to make sure that everything is in order and ready when we get there and check in and check out were a breeze. This is our first year with "Best of Canaan" but it was great and I'm sure it will stay that way.

  The sheets on the beds were very scratchy. Everyone made a comment on them. Also, we did have a plumbing problem and even though it was corrected, it created a mess that we had to deal with in the lower bathroom.

  Our family has rented this unit at least 3 separate times. It is a wonderful house that provides a great meeting area and wonderful bedrooms with private baths. This house is so comfortable that it feels as if it is our home in the mountains.

  We had a great time and have rented this cottage for several years. The cottage bathrooms do not appear to be cleaned thoroughly as there was hair in the shower stalls and on the bathroom floors. That would lead me to wonder if the carpets are vacuumed. Also, there was an issue with the gril not properly working and shelving to the grill was broken or missing. Otherwise, it was perfect. We have booked this for next year, as it is a great size for our family and the Larraine (rental agent) is the BEST!

  Very accommodating to a larger group(14). Wish the owners had included a pantry and second refrigerator. Issues with the hot tub all weekend.
