It’s a short, easy walk or a trail runner’s dream path, to Canaan Valley’s National Wildlife Refuge where wildlife and running (or walking) trails abound. No worries, you don’t need to run anything to appreciate all the comforts this home has to offer. Enjoy WIFI, multiple TV’s, a charming fireplace, and well-equipped kitchen. Stargazing from the outdoor hot tub might very well become your favorite activity, even if you are a true trail runner. Your well-behaved 4-legged friend is welcome with a small pet fee (dogs only please). You are going to love this place…so run-or walk-on over!

  We spent a lot of time in the house because of the weather. It turned out to be a very relaxing vacation! The house was so cozy. Having our dogs with us was a plus. Already planning to book again - hopefully we will get in some skiing next time.

  Super clean, very comfortable in general - all around. We did not bring our dog with us this time but I can see how it would be a perfect rental for those with dogs. The hot tub location is excellent - provides lots of privacy. Easy, short drive to Timberline. Owner provided coffee and related accompaniments and that was a nice touch. Excellent wifi and smart tvs. Would definitely request to rent this unit again! Can't think of anything that was a problem, not at all.

  Trail Runner's Retreat was perfect for our family get-away. The rental goes above and beyond in the'dog-friendly' category. The hot tub was great after long days on the trails even on cold nights. The kitchen is well-equipped and the provided coffee was an unexpected but appreciated perk!
  The home is in a great location to enjoy walks on the forest roads and the trails without getting in the car.Loved that it had a mud room and laundry.
  
  This was our second trip to the area and we returned to some favorites... Douglas Falls, Black Water Falls, Bear Rocks Preserve, Moon Rocks and they did not disappoint. We also hiked to view Lion's Head in Dolly Sods, Red Runs Falls, Kennedy Falls, and visited Bald Knob, Seneca Rocks and more.
  
  We enjoyed meals from Riverfront Wood-Fired Pizza, Canaan BBQ, and especially Sirianni's and enjoyed a couple of pints at Stumptown Ales and Mountain State Brewing as well as pastries from Tip Top.
  
  If we return to the area in the future, we would hope to book Trail Runner's Retreat again!

  We love visiting the Canaan Valley area and love the rentals at Woods End. This rental is no exception! Upon arrival, we found a hot tub very low on water. I called our rental agency and within minutes a maintenance person arrived to remedy the situation. I can’t think of any negatives for this home, but trying to always give helpful feedback the two things that could be improved on would be the water pressure and perhaps handicap accessibility. We loved the home and will book with you again!

  The Trail Runner's Retreat was the most well stocked cabin we've ever rented.... extra towels, blankets, books, games, DVD, kitchen essentials, access to basic cleaning supplies....all wonderful little extras that were much appreciated! The beds and furniture were comfy and the hot tub is amazing! Easy access from the cabin to trails and local attractions was great!   A very nice place to stay if you are going to Canaan mountain. Would recommend. the only thing that wasn't perfect was the hot tub . It was only half filled when we got there. they came out the next day and took care of it so no worries.

All the necessities were provided for the first few days and the coffee was an unexpected delight. It is being very well cared for and everything worked.   Great Location for hiking in Dolly Sods. Weigh 2 Kool is spacious and though not fancy, easy to relax in with our family of 6. The kitchen is great and the number of bathrooms really works for a vacation away!

  house was very clean and well equipped with the necessities needed for comfort. location was less desirable because we did not have access to dolly sods. Dusty roads to and from were an issue with the need to get car-washes frequently. Was looking forward to have some time In the hot-tub, however the hot-tub was not able to be used because of the cover which was very heavy and the design of the deck area did not allow it to be removed and stored with much difficulty. Owner really has to get a new light weight cover. I voiced my complaint to the office staff when turning in the keys and she said she would send me a refund for the hot-tub fee since I was unable to use it. Our dog came back with a light case of fleas. our dog is a house dog and has been seen by Vet frequently and has never had fleas.

  Canaan is a great place to visit - any season, any weather. Whether you enjoy outdoor adventures or just getting away from real life for a few days, you will find it at Canaan. Weigh 2 Cool is a great place to stay - centrally located in the valley, near hiking, biking, wilderness areas, both ski areas. Shopping and local restaurants are a short drive away. The unit is very well outfitted, is clean, has comfortable beds and seating, and has plenty of room to relax for a few days. The online description and pictures are very representative of what is in the unit. The Best of Canaan staff were very helpful and pleasant and I highly recommend them. Overall our time at Weigh 2 Cool was a great rental experience from start to finish.
